Peace Conference Scandinavia 2011

pcs_2011_728pxIslam Net is pleased to launch the second Scandinavia Peace Conference in Oslo, 16-18. April 2011. This is going to be a spectacular conference you should not miss. Everyone is welcome regardless of religion, nationality or religious society. The conference will take place at Sentrum Scene, Arbeidersamfunnets plass 1, Oslo, Norway. The first two days are specially adapted for non-Muslims to learn to know Islam, and the third day is geared more towards Muslims.

Opening of New Mosalla at UIT

Fredag den 08.10.2010 var enda en begeistrende og fornøyelig dag for muslimske studenter ved universitetet i Tromsø. Denne dagen arrangerte INS Tromsø den offisielle åpningen av bønnestedet, Mosalla, for studentene ved dette universistetet. Det var oppmøte av både norske og internasjonale studenter ved åpningen.

Når rykter og formodninger fremstilles som sannhet
Da Nordlysjournalisten Tone Jensen ringte meg for et intervju, ba jeg om å få spørsmålene skriftlig. Hvorfor? Det er et stort ansvar å svare på spørsmål når man må forsvare sin tro, sitt ståsted som muslim og en hel organisasjon som på landsbasis har over tusen medlemmer. Også av tidligere erfaring blir svarene vridd på og tatt ut av sammenheng, som resulterer i et ugjenkjennelig intervju. Det jeg derimot også burde ha krevd er å lese gjennom før trykking; for Tone Jensens artikkel knyttet opp til intervjuet, inneholder flere alvorlige usannheter.

Oddbjørn Leirviks foredrag om kristen-muslimsk dialog trakk en fullsmekket tredje etasje på Kulturhuset torsdag 18. Mars. Tittelen lød: «Er Islam forenlig med vestlige verdier?» og underteksten var: «Om lag en femtedel av verdens befolkning er muslimer. Vesten er hovedsakelig bygget på kristne og demokratiske verdier og det blir ofte konflikter i møte med Islam.
