Islam Net Student Tromsø had a stand last Friday at the University among the approximetly 30 other organizations and associations from Tromsø city, which used the opportunity to present themselves for the University's new students. Students walked from stand to stand, for small talk and further information. We were lucky to get one of the best locations; none of the by-passers could fail to see us.

We wondered if we would meet some new Muslim students. There were not many, which undoubtedly is due to the fact that there is great shortage of Muslim students in Tromsø. But alhamdoulillah; we established contact with four Muslim students; they got information about us and the Mosque Alnor Centre. One of them was an international student from Nigeria, and the other three from Lillestrøm and Stavanger. They were all very happy and surprised to see that we existed, and we hope we will all meet again at the first gathering later this autumn, insha Allah.

We came in conversation with several of them even non-Muslim students and representatives from other associations, among them a Christian student-organization and Normisjon, Changemaker, and Hurradio; the student radio. It was also a great pleasure to hand out good and free literature about Islam to those who really wanted to learn more.

Visual effect! One should not be ignorant about the value of just being there. Several hundreds of students, new in Tromsø, besides University-staff and local organizations, saw us today and know that we exist. Then next time they see us, it will insha Allah, be easier for them to take contact, both for Muslims and not-yet-Muslims! Alhamdoulillah.

We are at the moment, booking some days to have dawah-stands in cooperation with Alnor Centre in the city-centre, before the winter freezes us out. More info on this will follow, insha Allah.
