Bladet Nordlys is the largest newspaper by circulation in the northern part of Norway. The newspaper was founded in 1902, by Alfred Eriksen.

The main library building is located at Fokuskvartalet, a building complex that also houses the town hall and cinema. The library collection is housed among four floors.
